Establishment of Destination Management Committees and the development of a Common Sustainable Tourism Policy, ensuring coordinated decision-making, stakeholder engagement, and alignment with European sustainability goals.

Sustainability Awarding Scheme

Creation of a Sustainability Awarding Scheme, introducing the Sustainable Destination Label to recognize, certify, and promote tourism destinations that demonstrate excellence in sustainability practices.

Knowledge Sharing & Collaboration

Development of the Sustainable Destination Education and Collaboration Platform, fostering learning and innovation.

SUSDEST-NET supports the establishment of Destination Management Committees (DMCs) that bring together public authorities, tourism operators, civil society, and local communities. These committees ensure:

Common Sustainable Tourism Policy

A Common Sustainable Tourism Policy will be developed to provide a shared vision and guiding principles for all participating destinations.

The policy promotes:

Sustainable Destination Strategies & Action Plans

Each participating destination will develop a Sustainable Destination Strategy supported by a concrete Action Plan.

  • Support long-term destination resilience

  • Align with regional, national, and EU frameworks
